MIG/MAG welding can test both the operator and the equipment, but Car-O-Liner’s latest MIG welder, the CMI3000II, makes the whole process easier, the company says.

The welder is the next generation of this model from Car-O-Liner, which provides the user with a versatile machine that makes MIG welding a breeze. Using state-of-the-art inverter technology, the CMI3000II allows the operator to find the relevant welding program for each individual car make using the easy-to-read digital control panel.

At the heart of the welder is the Program Wizard, which guides users to the optimum welding program required for each welding task. Located in the control panel, which employes user-friendly icons, this feature asks simple questions like type of wire and gas to determine the best program.

The newly developed Miga Job Control (MJC) allows you to save up to 200 individual welding job settings and the easy recall of the user’s favourite settings. Transfer of machine software, including updates, is easily achieved using an SD card. The CMI3000II reduces weld spatter to a minimum using a colder joining technique - less flexing of the material is especially noticeable when welding thin plates, which maintains anti-corrosion coatings and the structural strength of the plate. The latest build specifications mean lower energy usage and carbon footprint than conventional MIG welders.

Other features include Pulse and Quattro Pulse modes. These modes allow the welder to produce the optimum droplet pinch off the wire. The CMI3000II comes with the MIG-A Twist welding torch, available in water- or air-cooled versions. The torch has an ergonomic design and a swan neck that can be easily turned to access hard to reach places. The same torch is used for different metals. Check out this welder at the Expo stand AB02.
