SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association has announced the winners of the New Products Showcase Awards held at the show, currently taking place in Las Vegas, USA.
The event recognises 'the most cutting-edge automotive products either on the market or about to hit the market'.
The three collision repair product winners were:
Winner: Matrix Wand 3-D Blueprinting System, Matrix Wand 3-D Blueprinting and Discovery System
This new measuring device has been heralded as 'revolutionary.' It is a handheld, portable Photogrammetry System that provides 3-D measurements that are used in real time for collision repair, and are archived and retrievable for later use. According to the Matrix website technicians can measure unlimited points of damage with full three dimensional XYZ coordinates. You can map the 'good side' of a vehicle to map the XYZ road map for repair. (See video below)

These look like a nifty idea – to save money and application time to protect a customer's car. As they are re-usable it also makes them a more sustainable product.
Th patent pending Pro-Tech-It car covers are made of a heavy duty clear vinyl and attaches to the vehicle via strong magnets. The cover is clear allowing repairers to enter a vehicle with the cover installed and drive it safely into a shop.
