Car-O-Liner’s Scott Lanfranchi explains the finer points of the company’s mid-range spot welder.

“CTR1200 automatically recognises the thickness and type of metal. We’re trying to eliminate human error and to ensure welds are performed to manufacturers’ standards,” he said,

“The gantry holds up the gun, this welder is so easy to use that you basically point the gun and away you go. The transformer is in the gun so there is no weight in the cable. Than means you aren’t dragging around a big heavy cable with the welder up your tail,” Lanfranchi said.

The operator can also extract welding setting information, plug it into a computer and create a data sheet. The ’right first time’ settings also speeds up cycle times.

“You want to get to get the car back on the road quickly, confident that the weld will hold if it is involved in another crash.
I wish these had been launched 10 years ago!” Lanfranchi said.
