Car-O-Liner Australia managing director, Julie Thomas, has been impressed with the response to the company's new Quick 42 bench.
Since the Collision Repair Expo in April, 19 of the new units have been sold. "It is the most ever sales we've made at a show," she told Paint & Panel.
While a bench that's only 4.2 metres long doesn't seem big enough for the larger jobs in a typical body shop, the Quick42 is 1.1 m wide (up 1.91 m, with ramps) and features a powerful, full-sized 10 ton draw aligner.
Size can be deceiving when considering the bench's capabilities.
According to Ms Thomas , the Quick 42 is able to handle pretty much the entire scope of work in most body shops-ranging from light cosmetic repairs to heavy structural work. It is worth noting that 90 per cent of most body work is cosmetic or light damage.
What makes this bench unique is the quick loading capability and the automatic, one-stage tilting. This feature plus adjustable lightweight removalbe drive on ramps, make it easy to access the damaged areas of a vehicle, as well as the measuring and anchoring points.
As well, this bench easily lifts vehicles up to 3000 kg and has a total length of 5.48 m, with the approach ramp.
The "Lean Design" and smart fixtures make vehicle anchoring easy and secure. And, with the pulling power of 10 tons, heavier structural work are easily performed.
The versatility of Quick42 means that vehicles can be measured either unloaded on the platform ramps or in a clamped and loaded position.
This bench's speed and versatility allows the user to take advantage of faster turn-around, with minimal downtime-assisting in workplace productivity and also improving the bottom line.
Another feature of this unique bench is the fully-integrated power supply. This means hydraulics and air are available from a central location, with quick coupling capability for easy fitting. This feature allows the user to have a tidier work place, doing away with hoses covering the floor area-helping avoid some OH&S issues.
The lightweight alloy ramps cover the full length of the bench. These can be adapted for both wide and narrow vehicles. The ramps can be adjusted to allow easy access to the vehicle, as well as adjustable work heights and an accessibility platform, which allows the user to work on the roof area.
Quick42 is compatible with EVO, Vision and other Car-O-Liner measuring systems.
Market acceptance of the Quick42 has been remarkable, considering that this was introduced locally only in last April's National Collision Expo, Ms Thomnas said.
