MiKEY, the Standox interactive web-based training programme, provides both new and experienced refinishers with expert know-how in almost every area of vehicle refinishing over seven modules. Its great benefit is that MiKEY can be accessed via the Internet. The Standox e-learning makes it possible to combine efficient, practical and professional training of the highest standard with bodyshop time-management needs.
In addition to communicating essential know-how, MiKEY also offers refinishers valuable practical tips and clear tutorials. The training modules comprise pre-treatment of surfaces, colour matching and management, repair processes and techniques, as well as defect correction. Videos, photos and animations make the modules come to life and serve to illustrate complex processes.
The MiKEY training programme was developed by experienced Standox trainers, in conjunction with the international Standox trainer team, at the brand's Wuppertal headquarters.
"The training content is adapted to the practical, daily needs of refinishers. That's why the focus is less on Standox products and more on the development of individual skills and knowledge," says Paul Polverino, national training manager for Standox. Each module concludes with a short test. Refinishers who pass all seven theoretical MiKEY modules can go on to achieve certification as a Qualified Standox Painter on completion of a practical test, which takes place either in the bodyshop or at a Standox Training Centre.
