Everything you need to know about the awards

The nominations for the 2018 Paint & Panel Bodyshop Awards Close on Monday July 4 at midnight.

We've had a fantastic response with hundreds of shops and individuals nominated. The best practice awards such as best customer experience have proved particularly popular this year.

If your business has been nominated for best shop you will have been sent an email from Survey Monkey asking you to confirm your participation in the awards and whether you are a country or metro repairer and if metro which category your shop falls into.

After the entries close, the judges will select the finalists to be visited for judging. These finalists will be contacted to arrange a visit time and date. The judges have two days in each state aren't too flexible. They aim to see at least five repair businesses per day and given travelling time between those business should not be spending more than 40 minutes at each business.

Provisional judging dates for best shop are:

Melbourne:         Monday 25 June, Tuesday 26 June

Sydney:             Wednesday 27 June, thursday 28 June

Perth:                Tuesday 3 July Wednesday 4 July

Adelaide:          Thursday 5 July Friday 6 July

Queensland:     Monday 16 July Tuesday 17 July (including Cairns & Toowomba)

Each finalist will be asked to fill in a Survey Monkey form about their suppliers and equipment. This document is only used to offer these suppliers the opportunity to take out congratulations advertisments in the September issue of the magazine where each state winner will be profiled. They are totally confidential and deleted after the awards issue is published.

In the best shop category there are up to four winners in VIC, QLD, NSW in the new, boutique, medium, large categories. In WA and SA there is no medium category.

Best practice awards

Entries for the Rising Star and best Country repairer awards are via video and if you are nominated you will receive an email with the deadline for entires (Thursday 12 July)

All other awards are judged from submissions on Survey Monkey so please keep and eye out for emails from Survey Monkey if you have been nominated.

What happens if I win?

You will be flown (where appropriate) to the Paint & Panel Bodyshop Awards dinner in Melbourne on October 12 to receive your award. As well as the physical award to display in your reception area, you will receive a winner's logo to display on your website. You will also be profiled in the September issue of the magazine.

National winners for the best shop award in each size category are selected from the state winners and announced at the awards dinner on October 12.
