We kicked off the judging for The Bodyshop Awards 2021 last week beginning, virtually of course, in New South Wales.

There was an exceptionally high standard displayed from the shops selected for judging. Obviously business in to looking overly rosy for any repairer in the locked down metropolitan areas. Most reported still having a couple of weeks of work but traffic levels and therefore claims levels have plummeted. It was refreshing to see a number of healthy reactions to the current lockdown. Those with fleet work, especially in the transport sector are better placed to have fresh claims in the coming weeks. Restoration work is another avenue repairers are seeking to keep the team busy. One repairer is looking on the lockdown as a chance to take stock and slow down after a very busy few months. Others are extremely worried about how long this New South Wales lockdown will last and what toll it will take on both the business and the team.

Thanks to the business owners who took the time to show us around their shops. State winners will be announced when the judging is finished nationally.

NSW finalists were:

BPS Autobody, Bankstown

Hume Bodyworks, Canberra

MPSR, Marrickville

Bodytech Automotive, Castle Hill
