Another stand out for the judges this year was Ben Alexander from the large, inner city Sydney shop MPSR.
MPSR is a huge shop in Marrickville, Sydney, repairing well over 120 cars per week – and that is a mighty logistical challenge in the parts area. Visiting this year we observed a noticeable improvement in the part department organisation.
With 22 years of experience in the automotive industry, Ben brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role as parts manager. He is in charge of all aspects of the parts department, including inventory control, ordering, and the distribution of automotive parts and supplies to the 70-odd onsite staff and subcontractors.
He leads a team of five employees, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the smooth operation of the department. As well as establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors he has implemented efficient processes and procedures to streamline parts management and optimise inventory levels.
Ben's tenure at MPSR Group is marked by several notable successes and achievements. He has implemented effective strategies for parts procurement, ensuring that the necessary components are readily available to support the repair of an average of 120 vehicles per week.
