Welcome to this year's Women in Collision Awards - the only award recognition program focussing on women in the collision repair industry. It's time to show your boss, colleague or team member how much you think of them by nominating them for these awards. Industry suppliers can nominate women that they admire in collision repair businesses or women from their own team for the industry supplier representative award. Entries are open from today.

The categories for the Women in Collision Awards are:

  • Owner/manager
  • Parts manager
  • Technician/estimator
  • Admin/customer service
  • Industry supplier representative

Five finalists will be chosen in each category with two winners in each category announced at the Women in Collision Awards lunch on 16 February 2024 in Sydney (save the date, everyone is welcome to attend). Nominations close on Friday 24 November 2023 and judging takes place in December. Winners will be profiled in the magazine and presented with their trophy at the Women in Collision awards lunch early next year.

If you nominated someone last year and they didn't win, remember there's a brand new set of eyes annually as the previous year's winners become the next year's judging panel - so please nominate again. When you are filling in the nomination form, firstly please make sure you are nominating in the correct category. All of the categories apart from industry supplier representative are for women who work in a collision repair facility only. If you are nominating a parts manager or estimator, for example, who works outside of a shop then please nominate them in the industry supplier representative category.

Writing a great nomination

If you really want your nominee to be in with a chance then set aside some time to put your heart and soul into the nomination. List her achievements, what she means to the business and to the team. We will publish some previous winning nominations next week so you can see what they look like.

The closed Women in Collision Facebook group now has over 356 members who regularly share knowledge and opinions – all women in the industry are welcome to join.

We'll be keeping you updated with the awards and seminar regularly via the the website - check for updates at Women in Collision news.

You can hear from the Women in Collision headline sponsor IAG with George Manos (industry risk and governance manager) and Kiera Dyer (manager of motor assessing operations) on this week's podcast PAP128.
