Autoshop Pro is a workshop management program was developed at Graham Bodyworks in Victoria by shop owner Glen Chesser (pictured right) and computer programming expert Michael Penrose (left).
The simplicity of how this system integrates and then relays the information to all stake holders adds up to a very efficient and under control workshop. It is also installed at BMW Bundoora's bodyshop who can't speak highly enough of the system. Large computer screens mounted in the workshop are automatically updated with all repair jobs currently in progress. A supervisor is able to allocate jobs to individual tradesmen allowing them to see, at a glance, the jobs they have been allocated.
Job Status information is clearly displayed and, when combined with the Auto-Quote Time Clock, the status of the job can be automatically changed as workers 'clock on' to different tasks. Sublet items are automatically displayed and can now be ordered with the click of a mouse button. For example wheel Alignment providers can be sent an email or sms message to book in the necessary work. Vehicle information can also be sent this way. A large planner-style production diary screen shows the jobs currently being worked on and the jobs that have been booked in. The system can also be accessed on tablets. The Production Diary easily identifies the next available time for a job to be booked in.
Autoshop Pro's Web Interface allows customers to view the status of their vehicle online. All stages of the repair process are catered for and detailed information can be provided to customers. By providing customers a job number and with their registration number, they simply enter those details into a website and they see in plain english what stage of the repair their vehicle is at.
