Festool describes its new, compact cordless drills – the TXS and the CXS – as 'ightweight and incredibly powerful'. Boasting impressively high torque and a 10.8-volt lithium-ion battery pack, they are particularly powerful and reliable. Other features include a FastFix chuck, Centrotec quick-change system and elbow adapter. Their extremely short body and even weight distribution facilitate work in hard-to-reach places and overhead.
The geometry alone makes all the difference
The extra-short body and low weight, at just 900 grams, make the XS cordless drills highly compact, lightweight and ergonomic. Two versions of Festool's XS drill are now available: The C and the T models. The only thing that sets the two apart from each other is their geometry – everything else is identical: Extra-small dimensions and low weight, coupled with maximum power and high torque thanks to the twelve-setting torque cut-off. They keep on running for longer than ever thanks to the 10.8-V, 2.6-Ah lithium-ion battery packs, and as Festool's customers have come to expect, the new battery packs are also compatible with the existing CXS models.
Particularly practical
Despite its compact design, the integrated bit holder still has space for four bits. The LED ensures that dark corners and angles are perfectly illuminated. The capacity indicator constantly displays the battery's current charge level. Thanks to the practical belt clip, the drills are always close to hand, whether the user is left- or right-handed. Festool has distributed the weight of the XS drills in such a way that not only do they sit perfectly in the user's hand, but they are also stable and stay where they are when they are set down.
XS drills – compatible with the system
The XS drills are compatible with the Centrotec quick-change system, which combines the bit holder and chuck and makes switching from one application to another quick and easy. The elbow adapter makes it easy to screw round corners, and even hidden screws can be reached in no time at all. Thanks to FastFix, Centrotec can be fitted in a single movement. A new, limited-edition, installation set – the comprehensive Centrotec accessories Systainer – is available from Festool.
