Cromax has launched CC6500 – a new high solids clearcoat with fast and flexible drying options that are designed to increase throughput and efficiency.
Cromax introduces CC6500 High Performance VOC Clear, an all-purpose clear that is suitable for everything from small area repairs to full re-sprays. Based on pioneering new technology, CC6500 High Performance VOC Clear offers refinishers a clearcoat that is quick and easy to apply, has good vertical stability, dries quickly and yet still produces excellent, high-gloss results.
The stand-out feature of CC6500 High Performance VOC Clear is its flexibility in drying, which can save energy and reduce costs. It cures in just 15 minutes at 60°C and alternatively in 30 minutes at 40°C – so it adapts to a range of work processes with the same reliable, high quality results. Typical baking times can be cut by up to 50%, without the need to invest in new equipment. The rapid curing times also mean that components can be polished and assembled straight after cooling.
“We have created CC6500 High Performance VOC Clear with the latest trend of low viscosity products in mind,” says Jim Iliopoulos, Axalta Product and Technical Manager, ANZ.
“All of its advantages mean bodyshops can save as much as 15 minutes per job in ideal conditions. This could certainly help bodyshops increase their throughput, which is at the forefront when we develop new products.”
Part of the Cromax Performance System, CC6500 High Performance VOC Clear is simple to apply in two coats with a short intermediate flash off time and offers excellent surface wetting, leading to a very smooth flow. With an easy 2:1 mixing ratio using High Performance Clearcoat Activator (AR7505), plus 10% High Performance Clearcoat Agent (AZ9500) this clear is suitable for all types of work, with no special additive required for work on plastics. Demonstrating very good topcoat hold-out, CC6500 High Performance VOC Clear delivers a high-gloss finish.
The new CC6500 High Performance VOC Clear is part of the Performance System, a system designed to give bodyshops the best combination of productivity, easy application and high quality and will be available in Australia from late February 2018 onwards.
