PPG’s new Paintmanager XI software is here to enhance paint shop operations with next generation colour identification, mixing and management.
At the heart of modern paint shop operations is the colour management software. In order to help drive productivity, it must have the ability to quickly deal with run-of-the-mill colours right through to solutions for the latest exotic finishes.
To ensure that both technicians and collision centre managers have all the advanced tools they require, PPG is rolling out its next-gen PaintManager XI.
Rather than simply building on the existing PaintManager system, PPG chose to introduce a totally new software architecture which gave the development team the opportunity to build in a range of advanced features and capabilities.
All this has been done with simplicity in mind, ensuring that PaintManager XI is even easier to navigate around and use.
Paint shop
Users are welcomed by a fresh, visually appealing interface, along with a more intuitive workflow which gives easy access to a whole host of new functionalities and process improvements.
For example, a new ‘smart’ search engine makes difficult searches easy, while enhancements to the ‘mix and weigh’ workflow help promote a ‘one step mixing’ process.
An improved ‘Estimate Volume’ function reduces waste and saves time by helping to precisely estimate the volume of product to mix, including thinner, hardener and additives.
PaintManager XI also brings the traditional spray-out card based painter’s library to life with the ability to ‘tag’ individual entries and then ‘search’ when required, as well as add spectrophotometer readings and share the library within a network or across multiple locations.
PPG’s RapidMatch X-5 spectrophotometer is fully compatible with PaintManager XI so users can continue to enjoy the accuracy of its five angle readings which slash colour matching time.
Management
Managers now get a suite of PaintManager XI tools to help monitor and understand paint shop operations in order to drive productivity and profitability.
For example, the ‘Jobs’ function is a simple to use tool which tracks all repair orders and historical work. At-a-glance you can preview team assignments, the progress at each repair step and add spectrophotometer readings to the job.
New ‘Inventory’ and ‘Pricing’ features add even more possibilities.
PaintManager XI also brings plenty of auditing options that provide flexible and customisable report cards to cover a whole range of paint shop operations. This straightforward, action-oriented information can be shared with staff in order to promote teamwork and develop best practice processes.
Installation and training
PaintManager XI software is currently being rolled out across Australia and New Zealand. Installation is fully supported and comprehensive training is included. Note: PaintManager XI requires a device using Windows 7 or later operating system.
