On my recent visit to the UK I visited Thatcham Research Centre where the team was busy devising repair methods for a Holden Captiva and and Izuzu D-Max. My guide around the research station was Head of Operations Dean Lander and the following video takes us through the process. Some models such as the Izuzu arrive with no manufacturer repair methods but only build instructions. It's the Thatcham team's job to take the vehicles apart and develop methods for how to repair the car to pre-accident condition, inlcuding safety performance, in the most effective and efficient way.
