Sydney Automotive Paints (SAPE) has announced a number of new products to assist the collision repairers.
Among them is a new spray filler and a weld-through primer.
Cam Ultra Spray
Cam Ultra Spray, is filler that sets a new standard in spray fillers. Formulated with a special viscosity it combines a high build character with excellent flow behavior to cover and full shallow depressions and heavily sanded areas.
It is produced and filled under vacuum. This “state-of-the-art” production guarantees that the air is eliminated and the material is totally pinhole free.
The special formulation of Cam Ultra spray provides good adhesion on sanded surfaces such as other body fillers, metal, wood and glass reinforced plastic.
This filler has a tack-free surface which makes it easy to sand so there is minimal paper clogging, it has good feathering characteristics and has a dense pinhole free surface.
However, the product should not be used over acrylic systems, acrylic primed painted surfaces or acid based etch primers.
Because of its ultra fine formulation this filler is primarily intended as surfacing filler for application over general purpose fillers. With its high build properties not only can pinholes and sanding marks be filled but uneven areas smoothly filled, ideal for hail repairs.
SEM Copperweld
SEM products recently released 40783 Copperweld, a weld-through primer with a copper enriched formula which provides superior conductive properties that minimize the welding heat zone thereby reducing distortion and welding splatter.
Copperweld is also designed to eliminate corrosion that forms between welded substrates.
Copperweld is an ideal product for the repair of hail dents when used as a guide coat to highlight pull areas when repairing with draw pins and washers etc.
According to SAPE, the high conductivity of the coating will mean weld failure will not occur, speeding up the repair process.
SAPE is SEM products exclusive Australian distributors.
