Dulux Auto Refinish is back, according to national refinish sales and marketing manager Michael Mammone.

Dulux Australia has been a part of the automotive refinishing industry for more than 50 years and prides itself on being Australian-owned.

Mammone has been working with the brand in Australia for the past six years, slowly building up the image and product range.

He has had more that 30 years' involvement with the industry, and 29 of them have been with Dulux in Australia and internationally.

He said a survey conducted a few years ago showed that more than a third of autobody repairers wanted to see the Dulux brand back in the market place.

"We started with a clear, primer, hardeners and thinners, and it took off," Mammone (pictured) said.

Dulux has since released a colour range and what started six years ago as a one-man operation has grown to have a complete sales team, technical product demonstrators and technical lab resources.

One of the edges the Dulux Auto Refinish brand has is its direct approach to its customers, selling product directly to autobody repairers and cutting out the middle man, Mammone said.

Servicing the clients is also an important part of the successful reappearance of the brand.

"We have the products that work and the service to support them," Mammone said.

Dulux Auto Refinish offers Dulux AutoSpeed and its latest addition, Dulux Autosolv and Autobuild .

Dulux Autospeed products are a core range of premium two-pack basecoats and polyurethane solid colours, that have been specifically designed for the modern automotive refinish industry.

Dulux AutoSolv products are acrylic lacquer designed to be used for automotive refinishing. Autobuild is the commercial transport range.
