Burson Auto Parts opened its hundreth store this month.

The Aussie company is rewarding loyal trade customers by offering $100,000 worth of prizes in a trade promotion staring in June.

Burson Auto Parts founders Garry Johnson and Ron Burgoine opened the fledgling company’s first store in the Victorian suburb of Braybrook in 1971.

Steady business growth saw the first Burson Auto Parts interstate store opened in Albury (NSW) in 1984 and after buying out Ron Burgoine’s share in 1986, Garry Johnson oversaw a group of 15 stores by 1987. By 1996 the Burson Auto Parts group had grown to 25 stores and within eight years the Australian company reached the milestone of 50 stores.

Now the company has 16 stores in New South Wales, 16 in Queensland, 11 in South Australia and in 2010 the first Burson Auto Parts store opened in the Northern Territory.

In October 2011 Quadrant Private Equity acquired the company and plans to grow the business further to make Burson Auto Parts the number one national trade aftermarket supplier.

According to Burson Auto Parts Chief Executive Officer, Darryl Abotomey, this milestone is extremely special to everyone involved in the company.

“The loyalty and support from our trade customers across the nation has enabled Burson Auto Parts to grow its business while maintaining the principles of excellent service and technical knowledge that were the hallmarks of the establishment of the company’s first store all the way back in 1971. We have a team of talented and dedicated employees who truly care about their customers, which has enabled us to grow and to continue this growth well into the future,“ he said.
