AAMI has launched in Western Australia to become a national insurance brand and give West Australian customers further choice in insurance products.

A Suncorp Personal Insurance spokesman said the Western Australian market has until now been dominated by two major players and it was AAMI's intention to significantly grow its market share by offering Western Australian customers an alternative that will deliver exceptional customer services, and highly competitive premiums.

AAMI already has one Customer Service Centre in Osborne Park, and at this time has no plans to open additional Customer Service Centres in Perth. The spokesman said AAMI does not have an established network of repairers in WA and given the number of claims currently being managed there are no immediate plans to make changes to existing assessment processes.

Executive general manager, Anthony Durakovic, said: "AAMI is one of Australia's largest motor, home and travel insurers with more than 2.7 million customers around the nation, and we felt the time was right to expand into Western Australia."

"Our launch into the west will give motorists and home owners access to a range of innovative benefits and services that we offer to all out policy holders."

According to Durakovic, AAMI pioneered a number of motor policy benefits including lifetime repair guarantee, valet service and lifetime rating one/maximum no claim bonus protection.
