Bodyshop Awards Frequently Asked Questions
Can I enter if I have won before?
If your shop has won in any category previously you will not be considered for a minimum of two years for an award in the same category. You can, however, enter a different category. For instance, if you won a new shop award last year, this year your shop could be nominated for a size-category. Or if you won best large shop in your state last year you could still nominate or be nominated for one of the best practice awards such as Best Customer Experience, Axalta Business Excellence Award or Business Innovation.
How do I know if my shop has been nominated?
You will receive an email informing you and this will give you the choice of being involved in the awards or opting out.
How do I know if my business is in the running?
You will be notified if your shop is selected for judging after the nominations have closed and someone will phone to arrange a time for this.
What does the judging involve?
The judges visit your shop at a prearranged time, the owner or manager shows the judges around, the judges take photographs and video and the process should take no longer than 40 minutes.
The judges only have two days in each state and try to see as many shops as possible and as such are inflexible on dates and times. We will publish the exact dates for judging in each state shortly, these will range from June to July and possibly the beginning of August. Keep you eye on the e-newsletters each Monday for awards updates. (If you don’t receive the e-newsletter you can sign up for free on the homepage.)
When are the awards presented?
The awards presentation gala dinner takes place in Melbourne in November 2021. Anyone from the industry can attend by purchasing a ticket.
What do I get if I win?
Your business will be profiled in the September/October issue of the magazine. You will receive a trophy and we also provide winners’ logos for use on your website and other marketing material if required.
Can I nominate for more than one award?
Absolutely. You can be nominated (or self-nominate) for best shop and all of the Best Practice awards (Digital Excellence, Best Customer Experience etc).
Making a video is just too hard!
Entry for Rising Star and Country Repairer of the Year is by video. The reason for this is that the judges couldn’t visit all of the country shops or the rising stars. We genuinely are not expecting some highly produced, blockbuster movie – just something shot on a smart phone is fine. It doesn’t have to take long and if you have anyone under the age of 30 in your business, they are very likely to be competent at video editing.
Good luck to all our 2021 nominees.
