Cromax is adding another high chroma, high transparency clear coat tint to its 100ml bottle range, which is designed for use in special OEM colours. The latest addition, AM22 Pure Blue, offers refinishers a transparent, greenish-blue tint that displays green when viewed from the side, and shows a red tone from the near specular angle. It is used for refinishing Sapphire Blue, used on the Lexus 8X1 RC model, which requires a high chroma blue tint in the clear coat.
“We are in constant contact with OEMs, so we can provide our refinishers and bodyshops with the tints they need to match the latest car colours, as quickly as possible. AM22 Pure Blue was developed specifically for refinishers who need a transparent, rich blue to match the trending transparent blues,” John Nettleton, Product and Colour Manager for Axalta in Australia said. “The tint contains the pigment in a special dispersion that offers a very high purity, and, as only a few drops need to be added to the clear coat, the 100ml bottle is a pragmatic and innovative solution.”
The new tint is suitable for use over Cromax Basecoat and Cromax Pro Basecoat, and for both solid and effect refinish applications.
The formula for the Lexus 8X1 RC model that includes the new AM22 Pure Blue is already available to download through ChromaWeb – the comprehensive web-based colour retrieval and product management software package from Cromax.
